Abstract

By improving precision, efficiency, and regulatory compliance, automation and smart manufacturing are changing the medical device production process. The review is based on the idea of the transformation of manual operations to Industry 4.0 systems featuring robotics, IoT, AI, and digital technologies. These enhancements enhance quality management, real-time monitoring, and support predictive maintenance and traceability. The advantages are increased productivity, cost reduction, increased safety and accelerated innovation. But there are still obstacles to overcome, including the cost of investments, cybersecurity concerns, and integration concerns. The upcoming tendencies such as AI-based automation, digital twins, and customized production are expected to bring additional innovations. These technologies are reshaping medical device manufacturing into a more intelligent and efficient system.
